The Zolder rim was designed to fill one of the largest gaps in that market, the disc-specific CX race-worthy rim designed around modern tubular tires. To accomplish this, Nox created a lightweight disc-specific full carbon tubular rim with a gluing surface with their all new CXT contoured rim bed. This design is a unique "C" shaped contour (versus the "V" you find on most rims) and it fits the tire perfectly, ensuring that gluing is optimized and that the tires are secure no matter how crazy the course gets. Let's face it, disc brakes are the future of CX, so they made the rim disc brake specific, giving them more freedom to optimize the rim for weight and strength while including their trademark asymmetrical offset to equalize spoke tension and build into a stronger and stiffer wheel. You'll notice the rim shape sheds mud and course debris to keep the wheel as light as possible during races.
The Zolder Disc takes advantage of the UniWeave™ layup, and the Nox patent-pending CXT contoured rim bed. The rim weight is 325 grams, with a wide 23mm gluing surface, 26mm outer width, a disc-specific mud-shedding 27mm profile and asymmetrical spoke offset of 2.6mm. Available with multiple drilling options and we can build your dream wheels using a wide selection of top-shelf hub options.
The Zolder Disc is a tubular rim, so clincher tires will not work with this rim. If you are looking for a clincher CX rim, we recommend the the Citico rim. The Zolder Disc can accept 30mm or wider tubular tires. While they designed this rim for CX racing, there is no reason you couldn't run this rim for XC or short-track racing as well using an XC tubular tire.
