This bike was designed for the hardcore trail rider that wants to keep climbing in mind but still tackle the most technical of descents with ease. At first, the aluminum model was our choice but after much debate (and a slight budget increase) we decided that the lighter, full carbon frame was the way to go. The XTR Trail kit was the next step up. The 180mm rotor in the front and the 160mm in the rear ensures maximum braking on any trail.

Crank Brothers has an awesome reputation for making great looking durable products. Our first choice was to go with
the Cobalt wheels in the black and gold color scheme because of their durability, relatively light weight, tubeless rim and
15mm compatibility. We then continued matching things up with their super comfy grips, strong carbon bars and world
famous pedals. The Joplin 4 drop post was the obvious choice given the bike's aggressive trail riding personality and the
Fizik Gobi XM saddle matched perfectly. It should be noted that the carbon rails were a tight fit with the stock clamp but
Crank Brothers is coming out with a new carbon specific clamp that should be out in May of 2011.

Given the type of riding this bike was built for, we opted to go with the FOX Talas 150mm with Kashima coating. We
spoke with Commencal and although this bike is normally spec'd with a 140mm fork the 150mm Talas works perfectly
with the frame's geometry and allows for better climbing and descending than the stock fork. The job of getting grip
went to the Schwalbe Rocket Rons in 26”X2.25”. Ride time is soon approaching on this rig so if you are interested in
