Cannondale Scalpel XX Ultralite Race Build

This frame and fork combo was brought to us for a full build out. The pictures were taken after the customer's first few rides. This customer was all about the climb! We knew this was going to be a light ride. To start things off we went with Sram XX for the drivetrain. The 2X10 shifting performance is an industry standard and is the perfect fit for weight weenies out there. Industry Nine Ultralite wheels custom laced to Stans ZTR Crest rims turned this rig into the ultimate climbing machine. FSA K-Force bar and seatpost were added to round out the cockpit along with the Fizik Alienta carbon saddle.

I know what you are thinking, “That’s a road saddle.” Yes, yes it is and for all of you XC fans out there, try it! It will
be one of the best upgrades you can make! The customer was detail oriented all the way done to the Lefty wheel bolt
made by Project 321. White Gore Cables were used to seal out the elements and Enduro Zero Ceramic bearings in
the BB keep the drivetrain spinning smooth! Even the factory Cannondale seat clamp had to go! It was replaced with
the KCNC SC11 in, yes, green. Where else could we save weight? The customer wanted the only skewer on the bike
to be Ti. That’s where the DT Swiss RWS Skewer made it on to the list. The pedals had to consist of as much Ti as
possible so the Crank brother 4 Ti were the answer. All in, the rig was 19.00Lbs with pedals!!! This bike draws
everyone’s eyeballs and makes climbing a joke.
